Our Products
Are Rhône & Co. products handmade?
Yes. Our soaps and candles are handcrafted in small batches. Slight differences in color, pattern, texture, or finish are part of each product’s individual character.
Are your products tested on animals?
No. We do not test on animals, and we do not ask anyone else to.
Handcrafted Soap
What ingredients are used in Rhône & Co. soaps?
Ingredients vary by formula and may include plant oils, rich butters, clays, botanical infusions, and thoughtfully selected liquid ingredients. Every product page carries a full composition list.
Do your soaps contain essential oils?
Yes. Every soap is scented with a proprietary essential-oil blend. We do not use synthetic fragrance oils.
Can I use your soap on my face?
Yes. Our soaps are made for cleansing both the face and body, unless otherwise noted on the product page. Because every complexion is different, patch test before facial use and avoid direct contact with the eyes.
How should I care for my soap?
Keep the bar on a well-draining dish and let it dry completely between uses. A bar left sitting in water will soften and wear away far faster.
Safety & Sensitivities
Do your products contain nut or seed allergens?
Yes. Our soaps are made with butters and oils derived from tree nuts and seeds, including shea, cocoa, coconut and sunflower. Every product page carries a full composition list — please read it before use if you have a nut or seed allergy.
I have sensitive skin. How should I test a new bar?
Patch test before regular use. Lather a small amount on the inside of your forearm, rinse, and wait 24 hours. If you see redness or irritation, stop using it. This is worth doing with any new soap, not only ours.
What should I do if a product irritates my skin?
Stop using it and rinse with cool water. If irritation continues, speak to a doctor or pharmacist. Please contact us as well — we would want to know which bar and which batch.
Scented Candles
What type of wax do you use?
Our candles are poured in a virgin coconut soy wax — a blend of virgin coconut oil, soy wax, and a small amount of food-grade paraffin.
Why is there paraffin in the wax?
A small amount of food-grade paraffin helps the wax hold its fragrance and burn evenly. Our wax supplier includes it for that reason. We would rather name it than leave it out of the answer.
How should I prepare the wooden wick?
Before each use, trim the wooden wick to approximately 3/16 to ¼ inch and remove any loose charred wood.
How do I get an even burn?
The first burn sets the pattern. Let the wax pool reach the edge of the vessel before putting it out — usually two to three hours. Otherwise the candle will tunnel and you will lose wax down the sides.
How should I burn my candle safely?
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from drafts, children and pets, burn for no more than four hours at a time, and stop burning when about ½ inch of wax remains.
Orders, Shipping & Returns
How much is shipping, and how long will my order take?
Most orders arrive within 3 to 7 days.
Do you ship internationally?
No. We currently ship within the United States only.
Can I return soap?
Because soap is a personal-care product, all soap sales are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.
Can I return a candle?
Unused and unlit candles may be returned within 14 days of delivery, in their original condition and packaging. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and original shipping charges are non-refundable.
What if my order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect?
Contact us within seven days of delivery with your order number and photographs, and we will arrange a replacement or refund.
